Family Business

Our side trip to Cherbourg is partly to deliver Mum & Dad(Yes they are coming on vacation too!)to a final resting place.
Several weeks ago Gordon mentioned that maybe we should check with the French authorities whether it was ok for us to take the urn into France.
Well surprise!! they wanted copies & translations of any supporting documents & worst case scenario, the urn should have been sealed by the French Consul in Scotland.
Anyway after some running around, money changing hands, here & in Scotland, the big day came & I took the sealed box that we had brought from Scotland down to the French Consul in Vancouver.
A very nice lady explained that the box had to be opened & unwrapped, but she didn't want me to open the urn( I swear there could have been anything in there)& then she bound it in a very pretty red, white & blue ribbon with a red wax seal. Paperwork up the ying yang & hopefully the customs officers in Paris will be as freaked out as everyone else has been.
We will attempt to remember to stand upwind.
To be Continued.....

Thanks Karen - you are quite right it has been a while !

Well we have a new baby in the family now, a beautiful bouncing baby Audi TT, 2001 with 54000kms and is almost like new as you can see. Barbara is well pleased with her purchase and hopes never to be caught doing its potential 150MPH anytime soon.

The other new baby is due on or around December 1st. Louise has had a really great pregnancy and finished work on Friday and is looking forward to a new life beginning real soon.

Little does she know that the real work is just about to begin.
