Vacation preparations

Well here we are almost ready to go.
We leave from Vancouver on Thursday June 26th with our favorite airline(not)-- Air Transat.
Louise & Jon are flying on Zoom ,lucky little beasts. We leave within 5 minutes of each other & arrive in Paris with about the same difference.Probably just as well that we are travelling separately,less chance of murder occurring early in the trip.
We spend the first night near the airport & on Saturday morning we will pick up our car & make our way to Cherbourg, about 3.5 to 4 hours providing we don't do any side trips(ie get lost).
We will stay in Cherbourg for 2 days- we have a little family business to conduct & I'll tell that story separately-we want to tour the D-day beaches & whatever else we can fit in.
We will be back in Paris on June 30th & will meet up with Caroline & Freddy.
We fly to Rome the following evening, Louise & Jon fly to Venice & Caroline & Freddy are staying another day in Paris.
We spend 2 days in Rome- Caroline & Freddy join us on the 2cnd day- & then take the train from Rome to Naples,local train from Naples to Sorrento & heaven help us the local bus to Positano.
If you have a strong stomache - go to Utube & look at some of the videos showing the bus ride. My brother Edward, who is coming in September,says the Italian drivers are even crazier than the ones in Saudi Arabia and that's saying a lot!!!!
THE WEDDING!!!!!! is on the 5th of July & apparently lasts about 20 minutes. However I have reason to believe that there will be a great deal of celebration occurring before & after.
Did we mention Gordon & I along with Louise & Jon are sharing an apartment for 5 days in Positano, hopefully we will all still be speaking to one another at the end.
We also hope to fit in a trip to Capri, Vesuvius & Pompei. We should also return exceedingly fit as Positano is very nearly vertical.
Caroline & Freddy head home on the 8th, Louise & Jon will spend a couple of days in Rome & Paris & fly home on the 12th.
We go to Venice, where some friends from the UK are going to meet up with us & then we finish up in Paris for our flight home on the 14th.
Since Gordon has his NEW super dooper video camera, we will probably hve an epic for all & sundry to view just as soon as we figure out how it all works!
